Nolan and the Ned Kelly myth

An exhibition of prints by Sir Sidney Nolan which explore his fascination with Ned Kelly.

This exhibition displays some of the finest prints Nolan created of the Ned Kelly and also showcases his masterly printmaking techniques. Included in the exhibition is also one of Nolan’s final and irreverent self-portraits in which the Kelly mask is graffitied over his face reinforcing the fact that even towards the end of his life, Nolan could not escape the bushranger’s iconic image, in fact many argued that his paintings of the bushranger now define the public perception of the Nolan himself!
