Ensemble Eroica at St Martin in the Fields

Ensemble Eroica, under young Australian Artistic Director Toby Thatcher, appear at St Martin-in-the-Fields for the second time.

The Eroica Foundation is a world-class platform for the promotion and development of musical talent. A dynamic arts organisation made up of the leading young classical musicians and composers in London, its orchestra, Ensemble Eroica (EE) is at its core. As the arts continue to experience financial pressures, EE provides pre-professional musicians from the UK’s top conservatoires paid opportunities for continued exposure and experience. The nature of Eroica as a varied and paid venture between study and the profession sets us apart from the many orchestras within the UK, providing for the increasing flexibility required of the 21st century musician.

Joining Eroica is young English soprano Sofia Larsson to sing Mozart’s ever popular Exsultate, Jubilate, before Schubert’s “Little C major” Symphony No. 6.

Mozart: Exsultate, Jubilate, K 165
Schubert: Symphony No. 6 in C major, D. 589

Conductor: Toby Thatcher
Soprano: Sofia Larsson
