Bernardi’s is a corner of Marylebone that brings together a love of Italian food with Antipodean hospitality.
Opened in 2015 by brothers Gabriel and Marcello Bernardi, Bernardi’s is an informally elegant restaurant that ensures guests feel completely at home throughout the day. Due to the brother’s childhood in Melbourne, the restaurant’s modern Italian cuisine is not only seasonally minded but also showcases British and Italian produce with an Australian twist. The restaurants head chef, Sabrina Gidda, is a two-time Roux Scholarship finalist and is considered one of the city’s leading female chefs.
The open plan dining room, designed by Gabriel, is made up predominantly of natural woods which creates a clean and airy feel; while as the summer months’ approach, the large French windows can be opened out onto the chic terrace this is dotted with olive trees. The trendy and buzzy feel is completed by the brand new downstairs bar, The Dog House. With a décor of deep purples and warming browns, this cosy nook of Marylebone crafts delightful Italian cocktails, with a focus on innovative Negronis.
The warming Australian influence of this trendy escape is not only seen in the food, with dishes such as bream, prosciutto, black olive and gnocchi alla romana and short rib agnolotti, bone marrow sauce and pangrattato, but also in the excellent, relaxed and easy going service which makes this charming spot such a welcoming venue for all Londoners. Bernardi’s is open daily for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, while at the weekends the restaurant also offer Brunch and Sunday Lunches. The downstairs space of The Dog House is also available for private hire.
